I worked my 100th (logged) contact this morning, WB2MIC, Jozef, in Wells, Vermont. Vermont is a new state for me as well.
My practice is to not log contest or foxhunt contacts, except on those occasions when one of them happens to send a card my way. So I undoubtedly passed the actual 100th contact some time back.
I worked some 30 or 40 stations in the one FISTS Sprint I participated in, for example, and made 10 or 20 contacts during the summer foxhunt. I also worked a few in the QRP-L contest a few weeks back.
But I don't put those in the log because a fast exchange of signal reports is sort of short of a QSO for log purposes in my opinion.
On the other hand, I will log a DX contact no matter how brief (and they can be very brief) as long as I am sure he got my call right.
Anyways, it's my logbook so I can put in or leave out whatever I want. Right? Right.
My 100th also ends a month long hiatus in contacts for me. I have heard Jozef on 20 meters before and knew he was in Vermont, so I have been waiting for an opportunity to work him and get Vermont confirmed. Today was a good day for that.
Just finished making a bunch of QSL cards for my last batch of contacts, including two DX stations. I'm going to put them in the mail tomorrow.
On an unrelated note, I may have found a route for a power cable if/when I get a QRO rig for the truckshack. There's a nice gap between the driver's side door and the hood (inside, that is) that is big enough to pass the cable, and there's a wireway that passes the door speaker cable into the cab. That wireway is sized for power to window motors, power locks, etc. so it makes a nice path into the cab area for a radio power cable.
More to come later.
